THE CURRENT CODEX FLOW

Four steps from idea to desktop.

  1. 01

    Open Settings → Pets.

  2. 02

    Select Create your own pet.

  3. 03

Describe the character or attach one clear reference image.

  4. 04

Refresh Pets, select it, then type /pet.

Codex installs the official Hatch Pet skill when you choose “Create your own pet.” If it asks to reload, do that before sending the prompt.

Karmen's working prompt

Give Codex a character and a quality bar.

Replace the brackets, attach one clear image if you have one, then paste the complete prompt into Codex.

CODEX / HATCH-PETREADY TO COPY
Create a custom Codex pet named [NAME].

Use the attached image only as visual inspiration. Preserve the character's most recognisable silhouette, face, palette and one signature detail, but simplify everything so the pet stays readable at a small desktop size.

Style: [pixel / plush / sticker / clay / flat vector].

Personality: [three traits].

The pet must feel consistent across every required Codex state: idle, running right, running left, waving, jumping, failed, waiting, running and review. Keep all poses clean, centred and easy to distinguish. No text, logos, UI, scenery, loose particles, shadows, motion trails or detached effects.

Before installing it, create the contact sheet and motion previews, validate every state, and repair any row with identity drift, clipping, wrong direction, broken transparency or unreadable motion. Only package the pet after visual QA passes.

Do not judge one still image

Check all nine states.

The contact sheet is the real quality gate. Repair only the broken state instead of regenerating a character that already works.

  1. 01Idle

    The same character at rest

  2. 02Run →

    Movement clearly faces right

  3. 03Run ←

    Movement clearly faces left

  4. 04Wave

A readable greeting at small size

  5. 05Jump

    A clean lift without clipping

  6. 06Failed

    Expressive, not visually broken

  7. 07Waiting

    Calm and distinct from idle

  8. 08Running

    Feels active while Codex works

  9. 09Review

    A separate checking state
